PostHeaderIcon Las Vegas Animal Life For Family Fun

As well as the two-footed variety, Las Vegas Stars also include the four-footed variety. Not to mention reptiles, birds, insects and marine life as well. Both young and old animal lovers will find a large, entertaining selection in Las Vegas. You’ll even find shows where animals are the stars! Some casinos even have their shows centered around animals. Vegas is a fantasy experience if you are looking for animal adventure.

If you go ape over animals, you must swing by the Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park. This may be one of the smaller zoos you have been to, but it makes up with some very rare animals. Here you will be privileged to view the last of the Barbary apes in America. You can also look at and enjoy the exotic reptiles, chimps, flamingos, wallabies and emus.

You can do some animal watching in Las Vegas not just in the zoos, but in museums as well. Of course, you’ll find animal acts at some of the casinos as well. When in Vegas, don’t miss the Mirage. There, you’ll find the White Tiger Habitat where you can see these magnificent beasts in pristine white surroundings. The reason for the white surroundings is to enable the animals to blend in and feel secure to some extent. These creatures are extinct now in the wild, so you are fortunate to be able to see them…and as a free exhibit at that!

At the Mirage, you will also find the Mirage Aquarium with its huge artificial coral reef containing sixty species that belong to the coral reefs from all over the world. It is a 20,000 gallon saltwater aquarium that is just behind the front desk and displays a host of exotic sea creatures. You’ll also find the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat here. This provides a healthy environment for these wonderful creatures and is a great place for you to learn about the role they play in the ecosystem. If you are over 13 years of age, you could pay a price and become a trainer for one entire day! This makes for a truly magical experience for young people who are interested in marine life.

To enjoy even more marine life, be sure to visit the Mandalay Baby Shark Reef which happens to be amongst the largest when it comes to marine exhibits in the U.S. There is an entrance fee, but the show is well-worth the admission. It is one of the best outings you can have in Las Vegas. All this is just a small sampling of what Vegas has to offer. Of course, there’s much more to see. If you’re an animal lover, you’ll be delighted with what you will find in Las Vegas.

PostHeaderIcon Las Vegas: A Family Getaway Destination

Las Vegas is a great family holiday destination. Famed for its numerous casinos and its scintillating nightlife, Las Vegas also has many activities that you could enjoy as a family. In fact, many casinos recognize the importance of family vacations and offer a host of family-friendly activities alongside their primary gambling attractions.

You’ll find a highly-enjoyable, free attraction at Caesar’s Forum Mall where giant statues of Greek Gods come to life! Situated in the center of the Strip, Caesar’s Palace is simply vast and has many jaw-dropping sites to enjoy.

One of the main attractions in Las Vegas, other than the casinos is the High Roller. The High Roller is a 909-foot high roller coaster at the Stratosphere Hotel. Unless a newer and bigger roller coaster comes along, the High Roller has the distinction of being the highest roller coaster in the world, making it literally the biggest attraction in Las Vegas. The High Roller consists of tracks in excess of 800 feet and with sharply banking turns that could zip you along at speeds as high as 32 miles an hour. This exhilarating ride could set you back $5 a trip and you do get daily passes. As with most roller coasters, especially ones that are so high and steep, height restrictions are enforced.

Another great activity to indulge in with the kids is spending the day at the zoo. The Nevada Zoological and Botanical Park makes no tall claims of being the biggest zoo in the world, nevertheless it is a great way to spend the day with the kids. They have quite a few exotic birds and animals including wallabies, ostriches, flamingoes and emus. The chimpanzees at this zoo are a huge hit with the smaller kids. Sometimes their antics could even impress older kids. You can make a choice between a half-day and a full day ecotour of the desert. This could be a great fun-cum-learning experience for children as they learn about so many different aspects of the desert.
Who could resist the romantic charms of a gondola ride? You could stay at the Venetian Hotel and Casino and experience its authentic gondola ride as a double bonus. You have a choice of outdoor as well as indoor gondola rides. The gondolier serenades you with the romantic sounds of Venice while you float under bridges and past beautiful landscapes. There are romantic 2-person gondola rides as well as gondola rides for the whole family. Reservations for gondola rides have to be done in person on the same day as the ride.
Did you know there was a Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum in Las Vegas? This is an absolutely-must-do on your Las Vegas family vacation. It offers you that unforgettable opportunity of golfing with Tiger Woods, singing with Elvis and sailing with the infamous Jack Sparrow. Here you could come face to face with some of Hollywood’s most famous faces. Don’t forget to take your camera along to record those memorable moments.
You will also enjoy The Liberace Museum. This museum is a tribute to the man named ‘Mr. Showmanship’ and displays some of his flamboyant costumes along with some of his precious antiques, his custom car collection and his lavishly-decorated pianos. This is not so much of a learning experience as a celebration of a man that lived his life as dazzlingly as the jewelry he so enjoyed wearing. Less than two-miles from the Las Vegas Strip, The Liberace Museum is a Las Vegas ‘must stop’ attraction.
Las Vegas, the original gambling town was completely focused on its casinos and glitzy nightlife. A few years ago, Las Vegas recognized the importance of promoting family activities alongside the gambling activities. The gambling casinos themselves offer families a lot of tempting choices that have families coming back for more!
