Fremont Street Experience – Entertainment Schedule For “Summer of ‘69″
One of the best (if not THE best) summertime values in Las Vegas are the FREE concerts at The Fremont Street Experience. They are almost one of the best kept secrets in Las Vegas, because they aren’t heavily advertised. But, we’re talking big name musicians…like The Guess Who, Johnny Rivers, ELO2, Starship, Badfinger, Marshall Tucker Band, and Kansas.
Now, listen up baby boomers! You’re going to love this.
The FSE management has just released this summer’s schedule of events, and WOW…is it a great one! The theme will be “Summer Of ‘69 – Vegas or Bust”. Get out the tie-dyed T’s, because this is Farm Out, Right Arm, Peas and Gravy. No..wait a minute. Far Out, Right On, Peace and Groovy. Yeah, that’s it. (Hey, it’s been awhile.) Anyway, check it out…

The Fremont Street Experience
The Fremont Street Experience is a world famous, one of a kind entertainment venue in the heart of Las Vegas’ downtown central core comprised of a 90-foot high, five-block long electronic canopy that presents spectacular sight and sound LED display shows. With its $70 million light canopy, $17 million in upgrades and 550,000-watt sound system, the Fremont Street Experience is sure to mesmerize. Every hour in the evenings, a digital display of color and sound splashes above the heads of strolling pedestrians on Fremont Street, and it’s a sight not to miss.
Stretching 1,500 feet (the length of nearly five football fields), Viva Vision serves as the showcase for the light and sound shows and the world’s largest graphic display system.Conceived as a ballet of computer-generated animation and sound, the light and sound shows have evolved into the world’s largest pixel matrix for a single display supporting text, graphics, and sophisticated animation.
While the Viva Vision canopy is an amazing wonder, the Fremont Street Experience is more than just choreographed lights and sounds. Fremont Street guests can enjoy the intimate atmosphere of an historic hotel and then step outside our front doors into the grandeur and excitement of the Fremont Street Experience, with dazzling free light shows and special events.
The Experience can choose from a library of about 15 shows at any given time. Nightly shows include “Odyssey: The Illuminating Journey,” which travels from the rain forest to the urban jungle, “Dancing in the Street,” a musical medley of songs by The Supremes, Smokey Robinson and Aretha Franklin, as well as tributes to Vegas legends, country music and classic rock.
Psychedelic shows include “The Drop,” a journey through an underwater utopia filled with beautiful sea creatures and “Shag With a Twist,” an animated show that features Southern California artist Josh Agle’s unique artwork combining elements of “Austin Powers,” “The Jetsons,” tiki culture and ’60s imagery.
Famous for its fabulous neon, the Fremont Street Experience is also home to some of the most recognizable Las Vegas icons like “Vegas Vic”, which was erected atop the Pioneer Club in 1951. This project blends vintage Las Vegas with high tech wonderment, live entertainment and more to create an attraction that rivals the famed Vegas Strip.
The Fremont Street Experience offers free live entertainment, an intimate party atmosphere with a laid back feel and a group of great casinos In addition, entertainment can be found with a number of street performers and musicians.
The Fremont Street Experience is a “must see” attraction which helped make downtown a favorite of local residents and tourists alike. Be sure to spend some time at The Fremont Street Experience on your next Las Vegas NV vacation!
